Isn't Soap, Just Well, Soap?

Soap is soap, right? Well, maybe in that they all clean, but handmade soap is rich in the one ingredient that makes a big difference to your skin; glycerin.
Handmade soap is full of glycerin, a natural result of the soap making process, but glycerin has been removed from commercial soap so they can sell it for use in other cosmetic products. (You know after you've dried your skin out from their soap, they will then sell you another product to moisturize. Tricky, eh?)
We use skin loving ingredients that moisturize your skin instead of drying it out. Such as olive oil, sunflower oil, shea butter, castor oil and more! Give handmade soap a try and see the difference!

If you were wondering about my different formulations of soap I make here is a rundown...

Goat Milk Soap: This is my favorite soap! I use fresh goat milk from a local farmer and add in nourishing oils for a creamy, dreamy bar of soap that truly pampers & moisturizes your skin!
I have keratosis pilaris (rough, bumpy skin) on the backs of my arms and using goat milk soap directly on my skin helps immensely!
Goat milk soap is also great for sensitive skin. I often recommend the fragrance free goat milk soap for those with sensitive skin or allergies. In my opinion, this is the absolute mildest soap!
A friend even uses my fragrance free goat milk soap on her baby! I love it for my face! After washing my face with my goat milk soap, my skin doesn't feel tight or dry. smile emoticon

My Shea Butter soap is made with olive oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, palm kernel oil, castor oil and shea butter. All of these oils are skin loving and shea butter is incredibly nourishing and moisturizing for skin. Shea butter is often used to remedy dry skin and to help protect the skin's natural oils. This is a great body bar for everyday use!

Coconut milk soap is made with, you guessed it, coconut milk! Coconut milk is another gentle and moisturizing ingredient that our skin loves! I use this soap as a facial bar as well!

Beer soap! This is a fun one for the guys! I make this using Killian's Irish Red and fragrance it with "Cool Water". This is a great gift for the man that has everything!

Using any of these soaps will likely result in softer, smoother skin! And you may even find you don't need to use as much lotion!

Enjoy!

'Tis the Season!

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Thank you to everyone who visited my booth at the Holiday Bazaar at South Adams earlier this month. It was a fun experience and I plan to be there again next year.

I'm stocking up again on the Winter Garden fragrance, so if you want some please let me know as it is selling fast! I just made a batch of a new fragrance, Cool Mint, which is similar to the Peppermint Patty of last year with less of a candy smell. I really like it and think it will be great to help "wake up" a bit in the shower

If you want to stock up for winter or those last minute Christmas gifts, give me a call! Soap makes a great stocking stuffer and hostess gift!

Blessings to you all!

Fall Fragrances!

Hello!
Where did the summer go?
I have several new fall fragrances that I will be soaping with in the next week. Be sure to look for them as they debut in the coming weeks! Along with the fall fragrances, I have several other new ones that will be making their grand appearance as well: Aloe--offering the benefits of real aloe, Grapefruit, and new offering for men (yet to be named).

Thanks to everyone who stopped at my booth at the Decatur Farmers Market yesterday (8/14)! I'm working to build up my stock so I can be there more often with more soap!

Contact me if you have a special request or need a large quantity.
Blessings!

Success!

I've made two batches of soap using the goat milk and it worked! The bars are cut and curing now, but I did manage a sneak test with some cutoffs. Wow! It works up an awesome lather fast and feels silky on your skin. Yay! Can't wait to use a full bar!

I also made a batch of shampoo bars with sunflower oil being the main oil. I did quite a bit of research to determine that sunflower oil is good for your hair; who knew?! Jojoba is another oil that is awesome for hair, but it's pretty pricey so I wanted to start with something reasonable to see if I liked using shampoo bars.

I realize I'm not very patient because I also sneaked out a slice and have been using it. I was a little skeptical about using a bar of soap for your hair, but it's quite nice! My hair tends to be dry and I feel like it is much less dry and even feels softer.

Goats Milk

Thanks to my brother, Andy, for getting me in touch with a nice Mr & Mrs who raise goats! Now, I will get to try my hand at making goats milk soap! I've never even used goats milk soap myself, but I've heard it is far superior!

Have you used goats milk soap before? What did you like about it? Let me know.
