I've made two batches of soap using the goat milk and it worked! The bars are cut and curing now, but I did manage a sneak test with some cutoffs. Wow! It works up an awesome lather fast and feels silky on your skin. Yay! Can't wait to use a full bar!
I also made a batch of shampoo bars with sunflower oil being the main oil. I did quite a bit of research to determine that sunflower oil is good for your hair; who knew?! Jojoba is another oil that is awesome for hair, but it's pretty pricey so I wanted to start with something reasonable to see if I liked using shampoo bars.
I realize I'm not very patient because I also sneaked out a slice and have been using it. I was a little skeptical about using a bar of soap for your hair, but it's quite nice! My hair tends to be dry and I feel like it is much less dry and even feels softer.

Goats Milk
Thanks to my brother, Andy, for getting me in touch with a nice Mr & Mrs who raise goats! Now, I will get to try my hand at making goats milk soap! I've never even used goats milk soap myself, but I've heard it is far superior!
Have you used goats milk soap before? What did you like about it? Let me know.

Thinking of Fall and Christmas?!
The kids are getting ready for school and that means summer is quickly coming to an end. Wow, another summer has flown by! As fall approaches, Christmas won't be all that far behind. Scary isn't it?
As it takes several weeks for soap to cure, I need to work ahead of the seasons. So I'm already thinking about Christmas scents and orders. Let me know if you have any special requests!
I'm researching to find a good shampoo bar recipe and hope to try that soon! Maybe even a dog shampoo bar!? I hope to be able to offer those items soon.
Enjoy your summer!

Welcome!
Hello and thank you for stopping by (because I'm assuming you didn't land here by accident)!
I've always loved handmade soap and for years wanted to learn how to make it. In the fall of 2012, I finally learned the art of cold process soapmaking. It's fun and let's me be creative while making a useful product.
I will try and keep this updated, but there are a limited number of hours in a day, so no promises. :-)
